    1. Thank you Judy, the same to you. I can’t believe how cool its been in New England especially after your mild winter.

  1. I enjoyed looking at the beautiful floral photos in this post. 🙂 I remember talking about New Dawn roses with you — we have them climbing around the front door. They are such pretty flowers.

  2. I really enjoyed these flower photos. It’s been nasty here in Massachusetts… Happy Mother’s Day to you – hope you have a wonderful day! ; o )

    1. Hi Cecile, New England has not had the best of weather lately. I hope you enjoy the day with your family…you need to be waited on especially well with your broken ankle. Thank you for your wish and I’m happy that you enjoyed the flowers.

    1. I’m glad you liked the flowers Penny, all but two of the photos were from our New England gardens. I hope you enjoy your day as well.

  3. Beautiful pics! Thanks for sharing them… as others have commented, it has been a wet and chilly spring here in New England! Your pictures reminded me of what spring is supposed to look like. 💐

    1. Thank you for your complement, Jean…I’m glad that you enjoyed the photos. Spring in New England was my favorite season. Hopefully your weather will improve soon.

  4. I love the climbing roses on your fence and all the other lovely flowers . Like Penny said, Spring is a perfect time to remember Mothers . Happy Mother’s Day Karen.

    1. Thank you for your wish, Gerlinde. I’m glad you enjoyed the photos. I loved the New Dawn Roses that grew on the picked fence around my vegetable garden…it was so New England, if you know what I mean.

    1. Hi Ksenia, Don’t you just love the New Dawn Roses. They are an old fashioned rose with the most wonderful fragrance.

    1. So nice to hear from you Diane, you’ve been missed. I hope you are enjoying your day and that all is well with you and your family.

      1. Hi Southern and Kathryn, I hope you each got my reply. For some reason, they seem to be getting mixed up.

    1. I’m happy to know that you enjoyed the flowers Deb. Not only did the roses climb along the length of my picket fence, they also grew up and onto the roof of my garden shed at our home in New Hampshire. The were beautiful and the fragrance was wonderful. 🙂

  5. Happy Mother’s Day to you Karen. Your beautiful photos of flowers are perfect timing as our spring has been delayed by frost we had in mid March. The Japanese cherry blossoms aren’t even showing signs of their blooms yet! The Lilly of the valley should be ready next week provided we have good warmth and sun this week.

    1. I’m happy that you enjoyed the flowers, Eva. Yes…it appears that all my friends up north have had a very cool and wet spring this year. Our orchard was always in bloom for Mother’s Day…I’ve been wondering if it has bloomed on schedule this year?

    1. Hi Siobhan, It is so nice to hear from you. 🙂 I’m glad that you enjoyed the photos of the flowers. I hope you have had a lovely day with your family.

    1. Hi Nazneen, I’m happy that you enjoyed the Mother’s Day greetings. I hope you are enjoying the day with your family.

  6. What gorgeous flowers Karen! I am not a mother, and Mother’s Day is in March in the UK, but I still wish you a lovely Sunday. I am relaxing after a busy week too 🙂

    1. Thank you for your nice wish, Cathy. I’m glad that you enjoyed the photos from my New England gardens. I now have your lovely gardens to admire when I miss all the flowers that I used to grow.

    1. Hi Zaza, I’m happy to know that you enjoyed the post and flowers. I hope you are having a wonderful day with your family.

  7. What a lovely gesture, Karen! Thank you so much! It has been a most lovely Mother’s Day, spending time in our gardens, sipping on some strawberry bellini’s, chasing our new puppy through the grass, and receiving the most wonderful phone calls from our children. May your day be blessed too!
    Ciao,
    Roz

  8. What beautiful flowers! And such a sweet message to go with them. I especially love the hydrangias. They are my favorite flower! I hope you had a wonderful day, too, Karen!

    1. Thank you for your kind words, Shari. I’m glad you enjoyed the post and flowers. The Endless Summer hydrangeas were from one of our gardens at our summer cottage in Maine. I wish I could grow them here in Florida.

  9. All such gorgeous flowers. My hydrangeas are just now beginning to bloom, behind schedule this year. I hope you enjoyed your Mother’s Day.

  10. I’m happy to know that you enjoyed the flowers, Gretchen. Hydrangeas are so lovely, I know you will enjoy yours throughout the summer.

    1. Hi Lori, I’m happy that you enjoyed the flowers. The pink roses are called New Dawn and grew along the picket fence around my vegetable garden in New Hampshire.

    1. Hi Caroline, Thank you for your wish and nice compliment. BTW, I’m having trouble with my comments going through on your blog…liked your bean stew. 🙂

    1. Thank you for your wish, Fae. Isn’t it nice that your son took time out of his business trip to remember you…I’m sure you enjoyed the call.

  11. Beautiful roses and happy Mother’s Day to you as well! Our older son came over and made dinner for us – homemade pasta with pesto, cheese, and zucchini.

    1. Thank you Jason, it sounds like the meal your son prepared was delicious. The New Dawn roses were very hardy and survived New England’s harsh winters. Wish I could successfully grow roses here in Florida but all the summer rains are problematic.

  12. Simply lovely, Karen:)
Mother’s Day may have passed, (I hope your day was glorious:) But, your flowers have most certainly brightened my day. (It was a dreary rainy day here in PA and now I feel all Springy just seeing these lovely flowers and reading your beautiful words. Thank you Karen:)
